Time to come out of hibernation and get crafty

Spring is on its way and its time to get crafty?

As I look out of my window today there is some definite signs of spring on the way and it is time to come out of the winter hibernation and get crafty!.

Spring is a sign of renewal and with a few flowers appearing along the hedgerows we are all beginning to feel a little more joyous. With Mothers day and Spring just around the corner there are lots of reasons to shake of the cloudy skies and get crafting to bring some cheer into your home.

If you need some inspiration we have quite a few workshops lined up and with a focus on sustainability . A bunch of blooming flowers is always nice to receive but they will wilt ( don’t forget to put them in your compost bin) so how about attending our flowers rag rugging workshop and we will show you how to make beautiful flowers from upcycled fabric?

Another great versatile craft to try is our ever popular Indian Block printing workshop, you could print a tote bag or maybe some fresh crisp pillowcases or a cushion….or all of them!

Of course as we step into spring and start to venture out into the garden we will of course be looking at a range of bunting…sheep and apple trees anybody?

Workshops Galore

Phew – it is the end of March and it has been a busy month with a lot of time spent planning and running Workshops. I have had a great time and met some lovely people who have joined me in Needle felting an array of flowers, fairies, keyrings and bears. There has been many a unique make and I love the smile on someones face when they have started the session with “I will not be able to make that” and finishing with “I love it as they hold up their creation with pride”.

Printing Round The Block

During March we also found time to run our first Indian Block Printing workshop. The afternoon started with a short demonstration of how to load the water based paint to the block and then apply the right amount of pressure to get a good print.

By the end of the session the group had perfected their technique and printed a range of cards, tea towels and their own tote bag to take their stash home. I got to take home all the blocks and paint trays to wash up….

Coming next month….

So with April approaching and the clocks going forward we will have brighter evenings, a perfect opportunity to attend one of our workshops near you.
